How It Works | Proportional Scaling

Text scaled up proportionally

What is Proportional Scaling and why does it matter in regard to Custom Stickers? Glad you asked!

When you scale artwork proportionally, you're either increasing or decreasing its surface area (width x height) while maintaning the overall aspect ratio set by the original.

During the proofing process we ALWAYS scale proportionally, rather than stretch in a single direction, in order to maintain the visual integrity of the artwork.

Incorrect scaling followed by correct scaling

Aside from the visual importance of proportional scaling, there's also a direct impact the pricing of your custom stickers. Here's how to get the best pricing by getting accurate sizing after you open your graphic in Adobe Illustrator:

  1. Hold Shift as you drag the bounding box corner to scale your graphic proportionally.
  2. Click on your graphic, then go over to the Properties Panel to view the final Width/Height measurements.
  3. Enter these measurements into the pricing calculator on a Product Page and select a quantity to get pricing.

If you're unable to do this, feel free to contact us and we can grab the measurements or recommend a size.

When you're ready to order, head over to the Shop to get started.
